Before even thinking about the menu, you need to free up space.

First, it’s important to keep traffic areas clear. Guests should be able to move around without knocking over a glass or stepping on an extension cord!

Second, clear surfaces so they can be used efficiently during your gathering.

So, the pile of books on the coffee table, the large centerpiece, the blender on the kitchen counter… out of sight!

Tip: You can temporarily store these items in a closed cabinet inside, in an outdoor storage unit, or even in the trunk of your car (why not?).

Rethink each area

Once surfaces are clear, a side table can become a temporary bar, the TV unit can hold the dessert platter, and the bookshelf can host a few dishes.

Also, moving some furniture into unused rooms (like the bedroom or a hallway) for a few hours helps create a fluid traffic flow.

Once the main room is cleared, a warm atmosphere naturally settles in.

Create a cozy atmosphere without overloading

The magic of the Holidays often lies in the details. Even though your condo should feel uncluttered during the event, that doesn’t mean it should lack ambiance.

Choose decorative touches that take up little space:

A string of lights on the wall
Scented candles (pine or vanilla)
Hanging decorations like golden stars

No need for a big tree: a small artificial one on a dresser or a simple greenery centerpiece works perfectly.

Smart seating solutions

Lack of seating is a classic problem in small condos.

To solve this, bring all possible seats into the main room, such as:

Office chair
Cushions (preferably in Holiday colors)
Pouf or ottoman
Storage chest (with a cushion for comfort)

Otherwise, pick up a few folding chairs!
